The secret of Bread&Cake XL
The patented baking dish is handmade from heat-retaining, unglazed and breathable CeraFlam® ceramic. The colour shimmers with natural brown tones. The top features a rim that runs all the way around. It is filled with water. The even evaporation during baking creates a moisture barrier directly around the baked goods. This ensures baking results almost like those from a real wood-fired oven.
This allows a wonderful crust to form, which significantly influences the bread’s flavor. The crust is considered particularly valuable, especially when it comes to bread. It contains the flavor compounds and important nutrients—it protects the bread and keeps it fresh for a long time. Even with cakes or pizza, the controlled moisture combined with the heat-retaining ceramic ensures the best baking results.

Baking Bread in a Kettle Grill
You can also use our baking plates in a kettle grill. However, since the temperature here is usually higher than in an oven, you’ll need to refill the water channel with water approximately every 20 minutes during baking (based on baking experience and internal temperature). This will result in a wonderfully crispy crust. We wish all enthusiastic kettle grillers lots of fun baking.
Baking Cakes with Bread&Cake
Cakes also turn out perfectly with our baking plate. Thanks to controlled water evaporation, your cake bakes through evenly while the top remains moist and doesn’t burn.
