Superfood harvest on a grand scale
The principle remains as simple as ever – just on a larger scale. The Micro-Garden XXL is aimed at anyone for whom a small portion of microgreens isn’t enough: families who want fresh greens on the table every day, connoisseurs who regularly consume larger quantities, and catering businesses that want to enhance their dishes with fresh garnishes straight from their own kitchen. After just a few days’ wait, a sustainable, predictable harvest is ready – no green fingers required.
Young greens with a full flavour
Microgreens are the first tender leaves to develop from the seed shortly after germination. They are harvested as soon as they are around 2.5 to 7.5 cm tall. At this early stage, they have a surprisingly intense flavour and are considered real nutritional powerhouses: Among other things, they provide essential amino acids as well as vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C.
For every kitchen and every taste
Whether mild, spicy or slightly sweet: microgreens add a special touch to salads, soups, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, dips and smoothies, and look great as a topping on any plate. There’s a wide range of varieties to choose from, from cress, rocket, radishes and mustard, through to broccoli, red cabbage and peas, right up to basil, coriander, dill, amaranth and sunflowers. You can grow several varieties side by side on the included planting stones, so you’ll always have a varied selection to hand. And that’s every day of the year.
Porosium® ceramic instead of disposable mats
At the heart of the micro-garden is the patented, reusable planting stone made from Porosium® ceramic. It absorbs water from the tray, stores it and releases exactly the amount the seeds need. The result: ideal germination conditions, no waterlogging, no unpleasant odours and virtually no maintenance. There’s no need for expensive seed pads made from hemp or coconut fibre, which end up in the bin after a single harvest. You simply use loose seeds, which are significantly cheaper. After harvesting, the roots can be easily removed; the stone is cleaned with hot water and is immediately ready for the next round.
How to grow your plants:
Scatter the seeds onto the stone, fill the container with about 1 cm of water and put the lid on. The seeds will germinate reliably in this dark, moist environment. After a few days, remove the lid and let the seedlings see the light. Depending on the variety and location, your greens will be ready to harvest in 5 to 20 days.
